Most here say the trucking sector is saturated. The news reads otherwise.

The driver shortage is a myth. There is only a driver pay shortage causing high turnover rates. If a company is losing as many drivers as they hire, then this isn't a shortage of drivers problem, it's a driver retention problem.
Check out that reefer company from SLC with three bunks in their red trucks.
If they're running a training program that requires their trucks to double as clown cars, then there is no driver shortage.
Snoop around the internet for a little and you'll find better articles than the one you posted.bzinger, jammer910Z, singlescrewshaker and 9 others Thank this. -
Yes we are short on drivers willing to work for peanuts. Over 400,000 new CDLs every year. But they dont stay in the industry.

Back to the phrase "News feed," 3 AM every morning the script
is released to the 6 major outlets that control the news.
There are videos out on the Inter-webs of commenters (Talking heads)
all using the same word or phrase on the same day about a certain situation.
Think about that for awhile.
We are being programmed.
!950's drive in movie subliminal messaging experiment - google that, too.
After WWII the head of CBS television came from military intelligence.
There's more facts out there - but you look into it - and connect the dots yourself.joshlilou and Brettj3876 Thank this. -

If you believe the news, we can't help you. I do think there's a shortage of QUALIFIED drivers, but the world has plenty of steering wheel holders. Years ago, most of us went into trucking, because it was one of the silliest and easiest ways to make a living. We had plenty of options, but chose trucking. Today, for many, it may be the last resort for a good paying job, only to find out, it's not for them and turnover is a big problem. As more and more find out it's not for them, there could indeed be shortages of goods, but not for a while. Lot of good drivers still out there.
