Did I say something to upset you? I was only commenting that there are lots of unprofessional drivers out here. Brokers are our customer the freight shipper is theirs. They are worried about the driver not doing what he/she promised and potentially losing them a customer. The only way that will be resolved is if they have used you enough to have confidence that you will do all you can to deliver the service promised.

You didn't upset me. Not at all. I was just curious about your attitude toward brokers. Most drivers with any experience at all don't seem to have much good to say about their relationship with brokers.

I disagree 100%. We have a flawless track record and it's at anyone's fingertips.

But the same agents give the same shpeel, and it's 100% arrogance on their part.

I have more than myself to think of, but the day will come sure as the sun will rise, when I retire and pay people some visits.

And I just want to look them in the eye and ask if they really believe in their minds, the bs they shovel.

There a handful at Landstar that are aces. And it is 100% their character. Not the freight, good day, bad day. It's them. It's who they are.

It's the cats, not you. They like the cats. Without the cats you're sunk.

I am very fortunate to work with the brokers I know. Now I have heard each segment van, reefer, flatbed, tanker have different attitudes concerning their particular area. I run a pickup and gooseneck trailer. Having three main customers. I don’t see the type of feedback from these guys. Yes had a couple of issues in 10 years. Once called brokers customer over a load “ gets fast results doing that “ One broker went out of business, didn’t get paid on that one. I just don’t see the things that some of you guys have to deal with.

I do agree to a point but when you have a new client call up and have to deal with someone who treats you as a child right out of the gate, then that's the problem. I get some brokers deal with children who are passed off as drivers daily but let's be honest about the broker, if they have attracted that type of driver, then maybe the problem is the broker and no one else.

I would have a small word edgewise into promises. One thing that is a truth over my lifetime dealing with freight. When someone wants it there from here after waiting 3 months for the Asia Boat to get it there for me to fetch... no one ever asks me what date and time will that freight get to the east coast or wherever. Always found out at dispatch what date and time required meaning someone else decided. Well, I drive that truck and its going to get there when it gets there. And sometimes people I never see in life make promises that are not fitting with reality.

It is not a complaint. Just a small fact of trucking against schedules. In the past you showed up on a certain date in the morning, they unload you. Now everything is by appt. It's silly. If you took in a load of potato chips by Appt for instance, low priority freight that needs 3 weeks to sell out etc. There is no point. Because 9 times of ten the customer on your arrival will make you wait hours if not longer.

Its quite different when you go into say Yakima WA and pickup a load of Onions for Boston Market in Mass. They are waiting on those Onions fresh. You race them east. If you do it right its there in 5 days. Maybe 6ish early. They unload you on arrival with very little to no waiting. Even then you have a chance to refuel, eat and rest and make ready. No appt except it needs to be there soonest.
