11' 8" Bridge

Well since its a railroad underpass it will never get raised. Instead what they are most likely doing is replacing the bridge structure with stronger beams that aren't as tall thus raising the clearance under the underpass.

 

Wonder why they couldn't just lower the ground.

 

Cause otherwise it will be one giant lake after every rain

 

I think this guy should get a life, how long, 11 years? Now what are we going to poke fun at? Yeah, good old America, running trains over 100 year old bridges.

 

We've had a couple of intersections that were modified and lowered 15 feet so that traffic keeps flowing along the highway without a traffic light. We're not having any lakes.

All that bridge needs is a little over 2 feet.

 

they'll still have truck get stuck underneath.

 

The way I understand it, the amount they're raising the bridge is as high as they can go without affecting the rail bed, and they can't lower the road because of utility lines underneath.

The thinking is that most of the strikes are from smaller box trucks, dummies in UHauls, and the like. This will give them just enough clearance to save those folks from their own ignorance. Big trucks will still have to pay attention to their surroundings. Maybe we'll get an awesome u turn video out of it.

 

They should have lowered it instead so far down that even Swift will know it’s too low to pass under. Now it will just eat a little less of your truck than before. I look forward to more videos.
