Then I will not hesitate to recommend that one meter.
I have very little experience with them since the newer ones have left the Retogen system behind. I think the unit of measure is in Seiverts now. So... it should work well for you personally to have it in your pocket.
Just be careful not to blatantly sweep the produce line with it. They will ban you from the grocery store if they understood what you surveyed the xrayed food products. (Many foods like tomatoes have a 4 or 5 digit number sticker on them certain codes reveal which ones have been irradiated. I usually buy tomatoes in the 4xxx range myself)
I kept a keyring device from that provider for many years. It sits quietly doing nothing. But I get near a cancer patient during chemo who has had xrays like my spouse it starts counting off groups of ticks. Anything above 12 ticks a group is a real problem. Especially if it swings into continuous which means that whatever you are near you need to be away. It finally wore out after many years.
Sometimes I think my wife after she was treated with 30,000 dollars worth of destructive xraying against her breast cancer tumor site in one month in searcy, right about that time and after I developed a cataract. Probably because we were in the same bedroom as most marrieds usually are. She has two cataracts growing now that will need to be chopped out sooner or later.
Radiation is tough. If you know about it you will be ok.
