do not ever come to Florida , even is the freight pay 3$ per mile , you might have to leave empty ,
loads here pay the equivalent for the mile ex : 1000 miles 1100 $ ( flatbed rate )KB3MMX Thanks this. -
Get off the load board. You’re a sucker to believe successful carriers with FL based hubs outbound for those rates. Yes freights cheap... but not that cheap.Last edited: Oct 31, 2019
KB3MMX Thanks this. -
i know is not that cheap , i dispatch otr , i work with some direct customers but that's only a few , if i dont use the load boards i dont get freight , simple
-
Why pay anymore than $1000 on 1100 miles when these suckers out here will take it?KB3MMX Thanks this.
-
they take it because people need to work , some one will take it for that low price and even lowerKB3MMX Thanks this.

Those companies would lose all the parked drivers in under a week. That’s not recoverable. Running at a loss and waiting until better times believe it or not is perceived to be less risk long term.
I hear that more then anything right now from drivers calling in. “I sat Friday and Monday last week, things just don’t feel right at the company. I need to find a solid company that has work.”
Edit: Not even kidding... yesterday morning someone who worked for me 7 years ago asked about coming back. He was one of my early on drivers when I was building things up. Interesting times!PE_T Thanks this. -
I have run at a loss for tons of miles, but I was either doing someone a favor (friend or family) or dragging an empty wagon.
I never even thought about doing a broker or company a favor and hauling their stuff at break even prices or a loss. -
It's because you don't have workers. I have another business what my wife runs, where we are usually negative in JAN-FEB. As long as you are profitable at the end of the year, it's all good.
Same with trucking. If you don't have drivers, you can just sit home and wait for good rates. But when you do have drivers, you gotta keep them running or they will quit and you will be left with empty trucks and truck payments.
Megas can afford the driver turnover, but as a small business owner you can notDLJ, PE_T and Midwest Trucker Thank this.
