Tanks are full. No pressure drop. Kicks off, or tries to about every minute or two.

    This is an intermittent condition.

Changed the governor to no avail.

Are you talking about the air dryer spitting?

Sounds like time for a new air dryer Dave.

Its suppose to cut off when the tanks are full... its not suppose to keep pumping air into them until something explodes...

You need to check either the the air line between you governor or the unloader in the compressor is gummed up and sticking.

It sounds like your drier is operating correctly.

The burst of air comes from the air dryer location.

Seems to do it when I change altitudes as well.

Just acts up for awhile then nothing. Truck is pretty tight for air leaks. Then it'll start kicking off with full tanks like every minute for awhile while both tanks are at 125.

If your dryer is mounted where mine is ( behind the bumper ) it catches all the salt and crud and will be corroded to heck and the bolts will break in the housing .
Took mine off and pitched it in the scrap pile .
New one was cheap from kenworth.

    Dave,

What dryer do you have? ADIS?

If yes, purge is controlled within the dryer. Needs a dryer.

I'll have to check the make / model. Probably the same one Brad has. Would the filter being clogged cause this?
