no matter what you chose try to do the research on many lines and options all trucks with all available drivetrain options. everyone knows this business isnt cheap and isnt something to just jump into and think your going to make money. this is a great site for feedback but the whole thing was about freightliner than finally at the end you bring up a KW should have started on the spectrum of all your options might have saved ya some time. it sucks but who wants to throw away millions of dollars on a wrong choice or premature selection. good luck.
Im just lookin out for ya, seen many companies start and close within a year on bad choices the main one is what ya buy , when and how you handle all that goes with it. expecially these days

Peterbilt 386, Kenworth T660, Freightliner Coronado or Cascadia, or wait for the new 2010 Coronado to replace the Classic it will have the Cascadia cab. Cummins ISX or DD15, 450-455 H.P. with 1550/1750 torque it makes the driver use the cruise control. 10 Speeds work, but a Eaton 13 is preferred best tranny ever made. 3.42 rear end gear ratio with low profile 22.5 tires. If you get a Pete or Kenworth with there best interior a GPS system is built into the dash, and they are beutifull inside. If you want Freightliner and have the money Wait for the new Coronado get the DD15 with selective catalytic reduction, Full aerodynamic package, Premiere interior with Gps, Sat radio, refrigerator, microwave, auxiliary genset with heating-cooling unit, rack and pinion steering, air ride steer axle, all wheel disc brakes, and all the other Bling that floats your boat. That is a tractor that you like to look at most drivers would like to own and it will BE (The Efficient Machine)..We all have brands we like for different reasons, Builder, Engines, Drive trains, Brakes and tires. Times change and so do companies something that was once made well in some American town, is now made somewhere well where I probably cant pronounce the name of the place. I wish we could all drive the truck of choice with the engine that gives us a kickstand to hammer on it, but we need to take some money home.:biggrin_25525:

    I would maybe get a mix of 10speeds and 13s. DD60 12.7

Guys that run the hills need the extra gears. Canadians will need more aggressive tires in the winter. (I would honestly ask your drivers what they will need)

Stay away from the new engine crap for now if you can (DPFs and SCRs -scrs are probably the better bet though)
