No, you need to read more carefully steelers. If you get switchec out of your current truck for any reason at all you have to pay the $100 cleanup fee if you have a pet on board. FFE/Lisa/American Eagle don't charge a normal pet deposit they charge $.01 per mile + the $100 fee for anytime you are changed trucks.

BTW Steelers if I came across as condescending on telling you to pay more attention I apologize. I was somewhat vague in my previous post, but anyways yea if you keep a pet with FFE the price adds up quickly.

I didnt take it that way. I like pets, but trucks are way to small for them IMO.

I enjoy having Cookie on the road with me, occassionally she will get in my way when I am moving from my desk to my seat since the hall is so small, but otherwise the space isn't a problem. Also while I am out here having her with me provides a good reason to get out the truck and get some exercise. Finally the best part of having her with me is the good nights rest I get, if somebody bangs on my truckdoor she pops up into the seat and they usually leave.

Hey Lonewolf, what are they paying per mile over there?

With 9 years driving if you can verify 4 years OTR over the last 10 years you will start at $.35cpm. Doesn't seem like much, but I talked with 40+ companies overall when I was looking and $.35 is about par for starting pay for experience now. Companies just aren't paying and are being super picky.

As far as the pet thing, I talked to the guy who assigns trucks and you only pay the $100 if your truck is trashed. I keep mine swept a few times a week and wipe down everything almost everyday. Plus, they owe me a detailing for the shape this truck was in when I got it. When I get to Lancaster I might get a truck w/ and APU if one is available.

Right now I am making $.29 a mile, minus 1c a mile for having Cookie on the road with me. Of course they also paid my tuition and living expense during their pathetic excuse for a driving school # Pine Bluff. So figure in the tuiton + bus tickets + living expenses ($50 a week for 1 month) at the school and it increases my income slightly, but not enough to brag about.

I will say that since I left the house saturday I have been running nonstop. I picked up near Lubbock and ran up to NYC then to Taunton, Mass. When I finished unloading in Taunton today I had to haul arse up to Burlington, VT to pick up a load going to Dallas for a monday am delivery.

Remember that the pay per mile is only good if the miles are there to earn you that pay. I would rather drive 3000 miles a week and only make .29 than make more and not even get enough miles to break even.

When you due to hit Lancaster Biscuit, I should be there sunday afternoon, and am going to be working to get an APU myself. My idles have been low since leaving the house since I have been up northeast ( using my frkn blanket up here # night). But when they run me west it's a whole other game as you know.

I pick up tomorrow in Jonesboro, Ar. and the load delivers Monday morning in Houston so my FM is going to re-power it in Lancaster. I should be there tomorrow night or Saturday morning, depending on how long loading takes.

Wish I could get the freight like you have this week. I run a day, sit a day, run a day, sit.... I hope to be in and out of Lancaster, but you know how that works.
