Trucking Sector Recession Officially Here...

WRONG, I did have drivers, and they were paid on percentage, It paid them better to deadhead for nothing to get a good paying load too.
My drivers deadheaded out of Alaska roughly 50% of the time, and were happy to do it.

 

Don't have to pull cheap freight if you got a good customer base.

 

Nobody is arguing that. It's just sometimes you do what you gotta do.

 

I've had some applicants that are looking for the sit at home and try and only cut the fat hog position.

I think that's the express ticket to Palookaville.

 

you are talking about alaska , some people might be reffering to the states , different ball game here

 

Yeah, if you have where to deadhead. But if freight is dead everywhere day after day and you pull brokered freight, there is not much you can do.

 

If that is the case, it is vacation time, at least that is how I always did it, and it worked for me.

 

You think the trend is going to continue? I think so. Seems everyday on here someone comes on Inquiring about "What truck should I buy as a new owner operator with no experience" or "I'm new to the business, where do I get loads".... This website probably doesn't even account for a 1/2% of the total truckers out there.

Just imagine how many more of the 99.5% out here that we dont here about... LOL

 

right after trump announcement of the trade war early this year , rates and loads went down , so in part was trade war .i'm a dispatcher

 

For sure, I take note of stuff like that and over time you can use it as a barometer. It’s slowed waaay down the new posts on here don’t you think?

I’d say we have a solid another year of this.
