My money's on the guy trying to commit insurance fraud but not being smart enough to realize he overshot the truck by 10 feet.
Flat Earth Trucker, D.Tibbitt, PoleCrusher and 5 others Thank this. -
$1 says he dropped the phone or some other cell phone crap.
D.Tibbitt, PoleCrusher, Bud A. and 3 others Thank this. -
I'm betting he dropped his lit/hot Mary Jane/wacky 'backy/hootch in his lap......
D.Tibbitt, PoleCrusher, Lepton1 and 3 others Thank this. -
I bet farm that's intentional. He steered back into rig ignoring the rail.
-
I'm not sold on the idea of this being intentional. It looks to me like the occupant in the driver's seat of the Chevy (not a driver!) had an instant case of stupid, yanked the wheel into the slow lane for whatever reason, upset the car and then tried to correct the slide, but realized the space they were in wasn't a space they could maneuver. I feel sorry for the driver (semi)!!
Hopefully no injuries!D.Tibbitt, lovesthedrive and x1Heavy Thank this. -
I think he missed the semi and swerved BACK into it. The rail just happened to be there. The actions shown by the steering wheel on the directions imposed on the car's front wheels show a deliberate decision to get back into the big truck. Most people would want away from it or spin out. This one did not spin out. (The rail again) If the rail was not there he would have gone into the trees on the right and maybe overturned.
The only other possibility I would accept is a acute medical emergency that strikes him so fast as to cause him to do what he did and at that point he might be a dead man already whatever happens.
The problem with these kinds of reporting is no one ever has information on the resolution of the investigation. It sure is interesting.
In the mean time I hunt old mud flaps that say suicide on this side and life on that side.
One other thing. I was promising myself not to say it.. but the evading actions from the trucker is pretty weak. I would have been way more aggressive. It wont be the first time. -
Did the driver even hit the car? I could not see any contact.

You can see the fender mirrors shake at the time of impact.D.Tibbitt, mjd4277, lovesthedrive and 1 other person Thank this.
-
Sure thing, you bet. Ground down along the right steer, then fuel tank then the drives and maybe under trailer. You can only see so much on the right fender mirror.D.Tibbitt, mjd4277 and lovesthedrive Thank this.
