I am looking for a job home daily or off 2+ days a week(Not just 34 hour reset) in northeast tennessee. I have 3+ years experience with spotless driving record and background. I was a trainer for over a year if that helps. The only negative is that I have an automatic trans restriction. If anyone could recommend a company I would be greatly appreciative.

Doesn't Reinhart have a terminal in Johnson City?
    Not sure about automatics though.

If you run the hell out of your 70 hour week you are going to find that your recaps will need two or three days to get you back hours for next week. And not always at home.

If I remember right Chinatown is right there in your neck of the woods and is familiar with it.

Not a great area for home daily and even worse area for decent paying home daily...but:

    - Reinhart in JC
    - Red Classic (Coke) has a drop yard in JC
    - Pepsi in JC is always hiring
    - Southeastern Freight Lines, XPO, Saia, AAA Cooper, and YRC have terminals right around the area. Estes is in Greeneville
    - Landair runs containers from Kingsport to the ports in SC and empties back, home every night
    - the guy that does shuttling for Domtar in Kingsport is usually looking for a driver, Crown Express I think it’s called.
    - Barger Transport in Gate City, hauling gas around. Assume they’re home every night.

I’ll add more as I think of them

you’re welcome. The problem for me around here is the local jobs average paying $15/hr or less and people gobble them up in a heartbeat. I’m accustomed to living in an area where local jobs were $20/hr minimum to start and up from there. I currently work for an OTR company home on weekends making decent money as a trade off, but there are times we only get a 34 in which I realize isn’t what you’re looking for

    - Food City/KVAT stores HQ is in Abingdon, running day cabs from DC to stores
    - Dutt and Wagner also in Abingdon runs daycabs delivering poultry products locally

You may also consider giving Whitaker Transport in Bristol a call. I heard they were considering adding some trucks toward the end of this year, their guys are usually home some during the week and home weekends

I just moved to Sevierville Tennessee a few months ago and I got a job with jbhunt pulling Intermodal containers out of Atlanta Georgia. We got a few customers up around Knoxville and even one right there in Johnson City so maybe try giving them a call. I'm usually off 50 to 60 hours for the weekend and gross between 13 and $1,400.

I start out I start out Tuesdays and then on Saturday they give me a load heading up to Tennessee and I will just drive empty the rest of the way to Sevierville after unloading. Jbhunt has no problem with me driving even an extra hundred miles.

No, usually to their drop yard in Spartanburg for a drop and hook or occasionally straight into the inland port in Greer. I do believe they’re running sleeper trucks directly to Charleston some now with the Covenant buyout
