Your going to the poor house more thane likely. Your definitely not going home.

If you can get that on all miles go for it. You’ll be making more than most and less than some.exhausted379, Frontman, Brettj3876 and 1 other person Thank this.

As long as you're making profit above your cost to run then go for it.

What’s it cost to operate your truck, including your pay?
Honestly though it’s low for your own authority and pulling your own trailer. I’m at about $2.39/mi right now but getting that is like pulling teeth.
If you ran coast to coast you could probably get away with running for that little bit your just wearing your equipment out.
I’m talking ALL Hub miles, not loaded miles FYI. Big difference so make sure your comparing apples to apples. -
1.80 on ALL miles with paid off equipment is doing decent with the rates like they are pulling a van.
You got a note a new truck/wagon then its not so good.Frontman Thanks this. -
Atri last I knew stated 1.69cpm. All cost average. That's drivers pay included. Now you only have .11cpm profit for the company. I dont see the math. At 100k miles you would net 180k, 60k drivers wage. 11k business profit. Of course this is all average and hypotheticals.
To slim of margin for the risk.
Now before anyone says it. No I havent hit those kind of numbers in years.
Especially the milage. Everyone can live and spend differently.FoolsErrand and JonJon78 Thank this. -
JB Hunt is sending Power Only invitations to owner operators with their own authority for $1.80, promising 2500-3000 miles a week. Provided that, the stated promised miles are loaded miles, this is not much worse from the current dry van spot market average. Maybe this should work all right for Power Only and being leased on, but own authority no, especially in the long run. You could argue that $1.80 is acceptable when we talk all odometer miles....deadhead included but they pay $1.80 for loaded miles only.
Still, I, somehow, don't trust that you could expect an easy $1.80. They want you to be committed for a week or two and they tell you where to go. The very tolls can make it 1.50 per mile, depending on the region.Last edited: Nov 8, 2019

Few years back, I was leased on to a guy. I provided bobtail, 2290, tractor, fuel. He paid tolls. Had a lot of 1.80cpm weeks. Year end was 2.05cpm driveway to driveway to the tractor.
It was ok. But no fricken way would I now consider it with my authority.Brettj3876 and JonJon78 Thank this.
