too many people assume the light will stay green forever.
sheesh, i can even recall back in my trucking school days, we were told of stale green lights.
if it ain't taught nowadays in any CDL, the shame on them
if it ain't taught by any trainer or mentor, or orientation safety class, shame on them.
if any CDL driver "assumes" things will always work in his favor, shame on him.
expect the unexpected.
of course, that's way too much to ask.

I'm guessing the op didn't like hearing what has been said...i know swift has fwd facing drivecams and willing to bet that with the collision set off the auto save feature and such and that's what swift saw on camera resulting in the termination...
70’Nova, FlaSwampRat and MachoCyclone Thank this. -
that's my best guess as well. and has been from my very first posting.
here is what he says, in posting number 24, read it and answer me a question..
at 1:54 AM...do you suppose he was "nodding off", and the camera caught that just before the time of the impact event..???
if so, then he was sleepy behind the wheel, giving Swift just cause to fire him......
and then THAT can be on his company file, and when called for a reference, the new employer can be told he fell asleep behind the wheel...Last edited: Nov 8, 2019
FlaSwampRat Thanks this. -
They don't have rear facing cams anymore...but im guessing the front caught the light...FlaSwampRat and buddyd157 Thank this.

More than likely it caught him pulling out in front of the oncoming car as it tried to beat the yellowFlaSwampRat and buddyd157 Thank this.

and that's why Swift would have fired him. the camera saw something the police did not.
i was not aware that Swift did not have driver facing cameras anymore..maybe they ought to reinstall them?
reason being, it'll go a long way (or short way) to prove the driver messed up, if the driver gets fired and tries to claim unemployment benefitsFlaSwampRat Thanks this. -
At-will means that an employer can terminate an employee at any time for any reason, they cant discriminate on race, gender, or disability.

Are Arizona (where Swift is headquartered) and Texas at will states?
-
Texas is a strong “employment-at-will” state. This means that either the employer or the employee may end the employment relationship without giving either notice or a reason. However, while this is true in theory, some Texas laws and Texas courts have changed the traditional doctrine.
Texas Termination (with Discharge) laws & HR compliance ...
In Arizona, all employees work at-will. This means an employee can be fired at any time and for any reason, or for no reason at all, as long as the reason for the firing is not unlawful.Mar 22, 2018

Dont worry about it. You weren't at fault and the accident did not go on your DMV obstruct and you didnt get ticketed. Dac reported accident is just a tool companies use against drivers. If swift even put that accident on your Dac
