That's why I switch to sleeper berth and go take a nap while I wait

Well like the old saying goes it aint illegal until u get caught. And if u were to get into a wreck and kill somebody they will comb thru ur logs and they will know u were waiting for roadside because it is not that hard to pull company records. It is best to just log legal with elogs rather than put urself in that situation. No load is worth ur freedom

I would log on duty for the wait on the roadside, but off duty when you check in on TruckersReport.

Sit in the sleeper and log sleeper berth while waiting. No way I’d sit there and eat up my clock waiting on road service. Unless I was getting paid, then I’d have no problem logging on duty.

Dang that sounds like a day that is filled with lots of fun and joy ! ........not.....,that certainly something the recruiter never tells the new guys.....

"Oh by the way , one day u may break down and burn ur 14 clock while waiting for roadside, only to be towed to west memphis where u will have to sleep with 1 in the chamber under ur pillow"

    "Awesome!! Sign me up!!! "

Oh the joys of trucking, good luck to you buddy, sending some good energy your way
