Deere also makes a lot of heavy equipment, if you already work hauling deere stuff, it wouldn't be a bad place to get your start.
Is heavy haul worth the headache?....

Keen is a great place to start. They mainly do Caterpillar though. Is that Valley trucking out of Minnesota that does a lot of John Deere?
And yes Heavy Haul is worth it. Sure there's more responsibility but you tend to get more respect. Every load is a new challenge. And sometimes it's not always about the money.Last edited: Nov 12, 2019

Aren’t Deere agriculture and Deere construction handled by different companies?

So there's plenty of opportunities for someone that wants to put the work into becoming a valued heavy Haul driver.
I know we could put him to work but we haul very little equipment. -
I never paid close enough attention to that. When I drove for ART HH. I did more than a few loads out of Dubuque. Which was all construction equipment.

That is a good question, I don't have a clue. We have a major deere dealer here, and 99% of his business is heavy equipment, We do not have a lot of farms here, but I have seen a farm tractor there a time or two. I do know they haul their own equipment. I have known several of their drivers, and it is not the best deal around but not bad either, they pay hourly from the time you get in the truck, till you park it at night.Awol Thanks this.

Do you want to haul heavy? Or oversize? Or both? To me it is worth it. To you it may or may not be. The only way to find out is to do it. It can be allot of work but it's very rewarding, aside from the money. If you're the type to love a challenge and feel good when you've accomplished something great then you'll like it. But if you just want to make more money in trucking I would say you'll be disappointed.
Awol and FerrissWheel Thank this. -
I did too.
We did mostly green but a bit of yellow came our way.Oxbow Thanks this. -
