Cummins recommends Valvoline. They claim it keeps dpf cleaner.
I have always used rotella conventional.
Our shop uses Mobil 15 40
The additives are very similar from oil samples. Rotella has more zinc which is what hot rod engine builders always recommend for wear protection.
If you do some searches people have posted oil samples for all major brands both fresh and used oils.
I change mine every 12k and sample. Current engine is factory recon N14Farmerbob1 and dosgatos Thank this. -
I’d run whatever the manufacturer recommends and change it out every 20k miles. You’ll be in good shape. That’s for newer engines. Older pre emissions I’d change it every 10 to 15k miles.
Frontman and Farmerbob1 Thank this. -
Delo made my cat sound metallic. I don't know it ran different. i zipped around and got rotella. Every Peter bolt i owned had a chevron sticker

Too much is made about oil brands. What really matters is what type of operating conditions, temps, contaminants, and keeping it clean (read good quality filter(s).. The biggest problems occur by keeping it in too long and using inferior filters.....
Farmerbob1, Midwest Trucker and FlaSwampRat Thank this.
