Like I said, I am not saying he is competent, just that he is likely right on that statement.
It has o be a major air leak for me to hear it, and it complicates things when I have a slow one.

Been reading but never posted on your thread until today because just last night I got fired from JB Hunt after five years.
No ticket or accident happened but I violated the Do Not Press Accelerator rule while cruise control is going.
I was doing the regional Intermodal account out of Atlanta and really liked it. Great pay and always kept me going.
They even sent all my info to the new company I hired on with today without trashing my history.
Except for the whole termination thing I cannot say anything negative about them.Truckermania Thanks this. -
If that truly is one of their golden rules, that’s incredibly stupid.
-
Reason behind it is because it overrides the auto braking and mpg benefit that is programmed in the computer.
I would probably be a little more upset over the entire thing except that the company I just got on with looks real promising and is a lot closer to where I live.
You know I always thought background checks took days to do but these guys got my mvr, dac, cdlis, and jb hunt conformation all in about ten minutes.Vic Firth, mitrucker and Truckermania Thank this. -
I'm sorry that happened, but they have drivers sign a paper agreeing they won't do it so they were serious about it.
Now that I'm with a company that doesn't torment me with every tiny detail like hard break or "headway incident" my days are so much less stressful.
Hope your new job is a winner! Good luck. -
Sorry to see you go, did you have a new truck? I have an older International and do it almost 100% of my day. I know it's not right but I can't do 66 without it. Please provide any details so I don't fall into the same trap.
On another note, if you watch the quarterly safety video there is a guy in there that did exactly that and ran into the back of a tanker. He still has his job! -
I had that old manual ten speed international for five years and could do the 66 just like you were saying and did it all the time myself when wanting to pass other drivers. Then they give me this new automatic Freightliner with all the safety features and video camera that buzzes every time it detects me going over the marked lane lines and beeps if I even do a moderate braking. Even with the pedal down with cruise on they only go around 64.
Enjoy the international while you got it, you will not get in trouble with those for holding down the accelerator because they do not have the video recorder tech that they used to determine my termination.
Once you get the new one though you got to remember they are serious about their safety policy.
The new company I am with is Fraley and Schilling here in Knoxville. I have read a lot of good things about them and got to tour the place and even looked at all the pay the drivers were making each week ranging pretty high so I am not concerned, was unemployed less than 24 hours.
Best part about it is I will not be having to drive around Atlanta ever again.Last edited: Nov 23, 2019
Wicked Wizard, UturnGirl, Truckermania and 1 other person Thank this. -
Woo hoo! That Atlanta circle is a nightmare!LoSt_AgAiN Thanks this.

So 3 months running with 1 week off.
Granted it is paid, at whatever rate.
But most of us get 1 day for every 6 out, so 1 day per week.
After 3 months that would equate to 2 weeks off.
That seems very good on the company side, but not to me - even if it is with pay.
Do you keep your truck, or get assigned a different one? -
That ship sailed awhile back. Their OTR as a company driver did not work out for me. I whined all about it then moved on to this fine new job with Bolt Express.Moosetek13 and 88 Alpha Thank this.
