I've been looking at different Brokers and some of them apparently require general liability insurance.

Is this something common that Brokers require? Is it like 10% of Brokers or 50% of brokers?

I don't think it's that expensive to add to the policy, I'm just curious how many Brokers require it and how many of you guys carry it.

General liability is common in all businesses. Heck many people carry it on their homes so when the neighbor kid decides to climb that tree in your back yard his parents will sue you when he fails out of it.

    Yes,Its common.

I do business withn NuCor steel- They require 2 million aggregate general liability- Its really not much more on your premiums.

Get it- You'll regret not having it.

I added it this year, was less than $600 for 1m/2m. Being able to take one load from a broker that requires it will cover the cost.

If your going to that Level of obtaining General- Why are you even working with Brokers?

So Many Shippers would be more than happy to you your model of excellence having 2 million general.

Your just making a brokers job easier..

Worker’s comp is not required if you are an “owner operator.” That’s only if you have drivers, but maybe there’s a brokerage company that wants to force owner operators.

false. Depends where you are based, and how your operation is organized whether you need workman’s comp.
