The Company I worked for waned them changed every 20k or so. It was faster for me to do it myself than to go to a TA or Speedco whatever.
There might be other reasons for an O/O to avoid the hand primer.

I find I have to pump it closer to 200 times . Turn it over for two or three seconds, then repeat.

Now that I think about it. It seems like the fuel filter housing will absorb fuel if you slowly move the filter up and down on the DD15. I kept going back and forth for more fuel from my reefer tank. I think this short break of getting more fuel allowed the fuel filter housing time to absorb the fuel. Once it stopped absorbing fuel, I closed it up quickly, and suddenly I was able to feel some resistance on the hand primer. Before, there was no resistance. So my problem was there wasn’t enough fuel inside the system for the hand primer to work.

I don't use sprayer anymore. I have built electric priming pump. it takes 15 seconds to prime and start the engine...

Hey, service tech here. Try removing the filter and cap, topping off the fuel and with the cap off, pump the primer. Once you feel a bit of pressure on the primer put your cap on and then prime it the rest of the way.
