I failed my road test in a manual 10 speed truck. I have been been looking for someone to practice with me with shifting gears and double clutching. I am enrolled in a cdl program but they have limited time and space to continue training with me. They want me to keep testing and paying fees in manual with limited time. I have tried to find local places to rent out vehicles but that is astronomically expensive and I was told I can’t practice in it. I don’t want to have a restriction on my license. Does anyone know where I can rent a tractor to practice and not get a restricted license

Put an ad in craigslist for a truck driver with his own truck that will teach you in his truck. Pay him hourly. If I lived near you I would by happy to teach you for say $25 per hour for as long as you needed.
BigDog Trucker Thanks this. -
Get a Dodge 2500 pickup pre 1998 with high miles. they shift hard unless you double clutch.

Consider a trucking company cdl program.
Where is your location?
Some trucking companies pay you salary or hourly while in their cdl school and some give you pay advances.Lepton1, FlaSwampRat and rachi Thank this. -

Dont even worry about the automatic restriction. Most companies have nothing but autos these days. Since you don't want the restriction you gotta settle down and relax yourself. That's the only way you'll get by the shifting part. If you get on with a company that still has 10 speeds, double clutching will be a memory because I am certain that your trainer will teach to float the gears
