Hey fellas. I have a 1994 t800h dump truck. It has a 3406 in it but trying to figure out if it’s b or c. It’s a 3zj44731. Problem is when I pull it up it says can be either b or c. If it helps it’s got the 12 bolt head studs and the pointed nose cone cover on pump. Thanks for the help. I can pull the block number if needed. I also have another question about adding power to this truck. Should I make that a new post or throw it up here.

    Rideandrepair Thanks this.

PEEC or no? Can look it up tomorrow to learn more. Maybe one of the other guys can help. I don't remember if any 3zj engines were PEEC.

12 point head bolts are usually a C.

I had a 92 C PEEC, it had the CONE timing cover, I thought the cone cover was only on PEEK engines. The C had bigger rod or main bearings. I forget, but being a 94, Is say it’s a C. I think it replaced the B in 92. It’s been a long time, and I didn’t know much about them back then, Cat wasn’t very helpful either. Great engine though.

Ya I got kenworth dealer to pull it up. Man all those service ppl are lost. Ha. Long story short they also said it is a c model. They didn’t tell me if it was a peec before or came mechanical. I see some of those c model generators made some big hp. Wonder if they got stronger internal components then our truck engines. I sure would like to see the full build on my engine. See what pistons I have etc.
