That might be what I would try first.
Cattleman84, LoneRanger, PE_T and 7 others Thank this. -
Yeah.. there might be a couple more gears they haven't discovered yet.
OP.. what tranny is in it ?
If it's an 18, you gotta flip and lift.
You'll find some more.Cattleman84, LoneRanger, PE_T and 3 others Thank this. -
To be somewhat fair. Our straight trucks do run high rpm's at speed.
But they're all 6 speed transmissions.
My little S\A Cascadia with a dd13, and 10 spd Eaton only get 1450 rpm at 65 mph.PE_T, D.Tibbitt and FlaSwampRat Thank this. -
...And smaller engines too, I’m sure. They usually tach quite a bit higher.
My Pete lugs along at 1100 running 65. I won’t run 12th gear on anything but interstate. Anywhere with a 55 mph posted I lock it in 11th.
Of course, on our newest trucks now you’re limited to 53 mph in 11th gear.
Trucker61016, PE_T, x1Heavy and 2 others Thank this. -
Yup, smallest engines the Boss can find. For our straight turcks.
We have a S\A Columbia geared like your Pete in a 10 spd. We never use 10th anywhere, but on the interstate.
Other wise it lugs and belches black smoke.D.Tibbitt Thanks this. -
Slow it down you speed demon!whoopNride, FlaSwampRat and D.Tibbitt Thank this.
