Enclosed head racks worth it?

I'm one of those over securement kinda guys. Army SPC was looking at me crazy when I secured a HMMWV with 5 chains and binders.

 

Do you have a muffler behind that rack ?
I have a ih 9400i, I don’t think I’d have room for a box like that with the muffler I have

 

I notched out the corner where the muffler is. I cut it on the factory seam then reworked it.

I sure couldn’t fit this amount of gear on an open headache rack. We have to carry everything but tarps on the truck because we’re constantly switching trailers or bobtailing across the country.

 

does your t800 have a center box in the rails?

 

No unfortunately, that’s a perfect place to keep bungees and only bungees. They way they can get tangled with themselves and nothing else!

but where does one store the padding then!


Just wish the open racks had a shelf on the top — like where your tarps are stored.

 

dont have to worry about that when you dont carry tarps.... lol
im not gonna risk a fall from 15ft for an extra couple dollars..
