in my opinion i have found the women turn out to be better drivers than us men. They don't have the swelled egos and too the roof testosterone that we men seem to let get out of control. Besides i would rather talk to a female driver any day compared to most men drivers. Besides the men seem to stink more often than not.

Now in another movie that was based on female drivers, they were the ones who beat off the Repro man. "Flatbed Annie" Not so famous movie.
As for women Drivers, I have much respect for them. When I got my first truck I had a run from Salt Lake City to St Louis. Since it was near Christmas they asked me to give 2 other students rides home. Male and Female.
I drove out of SLC to Chyenne. The Male student driver took it from there. Since I was responceable for the Truck I wanted to see how he drove before I napped. Let's say I am not a good passenger, and I did not sleep till later on. I eventually asked him to stop and I'll drive and as long as we did not get checked I'll run as if he was driving. (Yes a No no).. The the Female driver took over. After riding a few miles I felt comfortable and got some sleep. When I woke it was time to drop them off and I went made my delievery 2 hours ahead of time. Oh did I say it was a team run and I was asked to do it solo?
But as I tried to show, I felt safer with the female than the male. But with him only a 1/2 inch off a SNC Trailor and my mirrors, did not help.... -
I wonder if DOT, state police, or your employer/client approves of concealed firearms in your cab. I could almost congratulate you on apparently never being caught. So how many truck drivers carry guns in the cab?
-
oh HELL NO never have never will. there is way too much at stake if you get caught with it. DOT would have a field day with you. -
I wonder if your an undercover DOT officer you sure ask strange questions...
-
Strange questions? I was not asking for names, just how widespread it was for truckers to carry guns for protection. I would not mind if truckers carried guns, but only if they were trained and registered with Homeland Security, like airline pilots.
What other "strange questions" do I ask Ms Boop? Are you covering for someone? -
It is nobodies business 'cept for the person carrying the weapon and the person that weapon is aimed at.

****Edited by kc0rey***** Can't do that Cerberus*** what kinda question is that?

If I were a cop, had a truck stopped and found out the driver was carrying a firearm... knowing the dangers out there drivers face - as long as the driver is carrying a valid pistol permit from his home state (whether or not my state honors the permit - doesn't matter to me) and the firearm was properly registered... if everything was in order (log book, manifest and other paperwork, etc...), and no red flags to cause me concern and the driver was being straight up and cordial - I'd let it slide. I'm sure most cops feel the same way.
When in doubt, get a pistol permit from Utah - they allow out of state folks to get one and it's honored in over 30 states). Carry concealed means just that - concealed. Unless your person is being searched by a cop who's gonna know? Better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6. -
I after 26 years I wouldn't waste my time defending anyone male or female in person much less on the CB radio. It's like wallowing in the mud with a pig, you only get filthy and the pig enjoys it.
I do attempt correct anyone in any type of the mediums of communication that assumes I am a he, or calls me Hon or all those little names that seem to get thrown around so casually. Sometimes people think I am too demanding or sarcastic in those situations. I'm not being demanding or sarcastic, I just say what I mean period. No sense in most cases in sugar coating it because it just not the way was taught. I normally don't see the men calling each other hon, baby etc nor do I see the women calling each other those names. I am sure there are exceptions to that. To me it's just disrespectful to call someone you don't know by a name normally used as a term of endearment used by people that know each other. It's just the way I was raised. I say Sir or Ma'am as I try to be respectful and treat people the way I want to be treated. There are some folks that you can't be respectful to because they don't respect themselves much less anyone else.
I have often wondered how for example a man would feel if a total stranger address his wife, mother, sister or other female in his family by some of the names that women in trucking have had to endure when we say nothing or simply respond to a question or comment. Personally I have stopped for the most part saying anything on the CB as it's more trouble than it's worth. No I''m not bitter or any where close to that. I just see no point in subjecting myself to that type of treatment.
