It really doesn't matter what brand of truck the OP chooses, as long as it has the right drivetrain for the job. Some will say buy a Pete, others a Mack (myself included, but that's just my opinion), but at the end of the day, a Crapcadia daycab spec'd correctly would do the job just as well.

We move a 35,000 lbs excavator, a Cat 315CL, behind a 10-wheel dump truck. Not particularly heavy specs, but it has full locking rears, so it's good offroad.
We use a 25-ton Eager Beaver with electric/hydraulic ramps. It's super easy to load, much quicker than our 50-ton RGN. The biggest limitation with a tag trailer is the deck height. A 3-yard wheel loader on our tag trailer is 14'2" tall.Roberts450 Thanks this. -
Do you have other uses for the truck, such as a dump truck or something else.
If so I would concentrate on getting what will work well for both uses, I pull more weight than that on a 3 axle pintle hitch tilt top lowboy, with mt log truck all the time, but hauling logs is it's primary job, this includes excavators and dozers, plus logging equipment.
Just about any brand truck will work as long as it is speced right, and most vocational trucks will be speced with more ground clearance and lower gears.AModelCat Thanks this. -
I do that all the time with a dump truck and a pintle hitch flatbed.
Any truck will pull that fine as stated, that particular trailer has air brakes and pulls a Paver and roller and skid steer too if we want to ride dirty.
