I was riding on the highway and saw a truck with a home depot generator on the back of it. I was like "yea that was my idea" lol...

I think everyone that doesn't live in a cubical has thought of this idea before, and I don't know why so few are trying it. I just need the $$ is all.

Wait...this isn't the $125k truck show forum? I thought that was the minimum price you could pay to get into this club.

Lets see how I can put this so that you have a better understanding.... Your 16 so I'm going to assume you drive. Here's the scenario..... go out to a car that is sitting in the sun (98+), climb in the back seat, turn on a small fan with the windows up and try to sleep. In the winter go up to N-Dakota (11+ - ) try the same thing with just an electric blanket. I think you get the idea.

I don't see why I should pay $8,000 for something I can buy for around $1,000. The price premium on APUs is really ridiculous.

I suspect APU prices will come down quite a bit as the new anti-driver idle laws and higher fuel prices combine to create much higher demand. That means a bigger market and you'll probably see more players entering it.

since when does more demand equal lower prices? that's the complete opposit of any economic fuction I've ever been taught.

lok at states who mandate auto insurance. Every one of them have higher premiums then states who do not have mandated insurance.

Anytime you have a product that is mandated the price will be high because you have o choice but to pay it

And states who restrict who can offer insurance (MA was the posterchild for this for many years) have higher rates than states where more insurance companies compete for the business.

But you are right -- increasing demand does generally mean higher prices. However, it also creates a bigger market. That tends to entice more players to enter the market. That is one way of increasing supply, which does lower prices. And with this drastic of a change, I don't think it's unreasonable to expect the market to change.

    Time will tell...

I understand what TX is saying. Look at the now defunked VCR. When it first came out you couldn't buy one for less than $600. now you can't give one away. As the demand increases more players will join in the hunt for market share. Better technology and cheaper prices will force the starters to meet the price or bail. LifeForce is 1/2 the cost of others and CARB compliant. How will that effect PP, RigMaster, Blackrock, etc.... Granted the LF is propane powered and many scoff at the idea of carrying it on their trucks or adding batteries, but the fact is there may not be another choice. When the debate of VCR VS Beta was in full swing in the 80's (Shut-Up!!:biggrin_25516: I know you've never seen an 8-track either) Beta users eventually had no choice but to buy a VCR. :yes2557:
