Even if Celadon locks the gates and shuts down, every driver will have a new job within 24-48 hours.
The sky is not falling for Celadon drivers. Some drivers comfort zone and habits will have to go away, but there's trucking jobs waiting for them.

While I feel horrible for the employees, the loss of that many available trucks will greatly help the spot market rates, or at least it should. I've been seeing rates doing much better in the west with a lot more available loads over the last 2-3 months.

The article clearly states that FedEX has stopped loading Celadon trailers and Celadon itself is calling automotive customers and telling them to ship alternate carriers so they don't shut down automotive plants.
That sounds like the end to me. But you are right, all the drivers will have new jobs, probably with significantly reduced miles due to current softness in the overall freight market. It doesn't cost them anything to leave guys with below par miles, and still hire new ones.

Yeah, another article says it's over for Celadon.
Lots of used truck & trailers up for auction unless Celadon leases their equipment. Don't know how that will work.
I've been through 3 trucking company bankruptcies and it's really no big deal for the drivers.

If any driver with Celadon is looking Crete Carrier will take you, also they can help with transportation if hired and in some cases have been known to help with transition pay. Message me if you'd like any info. Really sucks that they do this right before a major holiday .

Anyone that has stayed at this place deserves to be stranded! Silly don has showed too many warning signs. But yet and still there were people on TTR saying oh no I'm never leaving this is the best job in the world and I pull walmart freight so I will be ok.

    LoneCowboy and buddyd157 Thank this.
