I keep and HP printer onboard and the ink jets are always clogging up in the summer when it gets hot, and those darn cartridges are expensive.
I bought a printer

Using a Cannon inkjet for years ($40).
Leave it on the truck all year round and never had a problem. Huh.Dave_in_AZ and 77fib77 Thank this. -
I tried a laser printer but the inverter couldnt handle it even with engine running. 2500 inverterDave_in_AZ and PE_T Thank this.

That's weird. Problem could be the wave shape produced by the inverter.
They don't use that much power.Dave_in_AZ and D.Tibbitt Thank this. -
I have the same printer and got it two years ago. It’s a slick little unit.. Used mine to print my logs every week.Dave_in_AZ, 77fib77 and D.Tibbitt Thank this.

I ran mine (same printer as OP) with a small 400 watt inverter plugged into a power port.. never had a problem or blown fuses.Dave_in_AZ and D.Tibbitt Thank this.

You probably had a MSW (modified sine wave) inverter. PSW (Pure sine wave) is the way to go and they are much cheaper nowadays. I run a $100 Brother laser printer with a 2500 PSW inverter and it works fine. Uses a ton of power when starting up (heating the element or whatever) and that's what shuts most of them down, the momentary power zap. I've never even considered freezing being a problem for a laser printer. Mine's been humming along for a couple years.Dave_in_AZ and D.Tibbitt Thank this.

This one but I didn't pay this much. Not sure what's up but looks like they're higher now than a couple years ago. I still think it's worth it but I realize that's a lot of cheddar.

Anyway, I've been putting inverters in campers and RV builds/rebuilds for years and this is the best one I've ever owned. If it dies I'll buy the same one tomorrow.Dave_in_AZ, D.Tibbitt and dirthaller Thank this. -
Why?
Mine stays in the truck year around and I've had it for 4 years and never had a single problem other than replacing ink cartridges when they go emptynot4hire, Dave_in_AZ and Hegemeister Thank this.
