I had just hooked up to my first trailer of the day. Our trailers have roll-up doors instead of swing doors. The dock worker didn't lower the door, so I climbed up in the trailer and pulled down the door.... right on the middle finger of my left hand. It severed that finger about halfway down the fingernail. I was wearing gloves and the severed part was still in the glove when the shipping supervisor went to look for it.
Ambulance took me to the ER but the Orthopedic Surgeon couldn't reattach the tip. It looks like I forced it into a meat grinder. Beta-blockers have it numb, for now, but I know it's gonna hurt like no other when the beta-blocker wears off.
I'll have to look for that thread. Those are the kinds of threads I personally LOVE. I work around a bunch of folks like that now. Nothing but support for one another, even when someone messes up.
I appreciate what you do on this forum. Yep, we have our share of knuckleheads but while others are quick to condemn the person's actions, you seem to always give the person a chance, until they give you a reason not to.tarmadilo, TripleSix, Rideandrepair and 3 others Thank this. -
Awh man... if it makes you feel better, I have NO pinky tip on my right hand.. (I'm a lefty..) was holding a mower blade and grinding it, and..... the YOUNG 2 year old that's now 19, distracted me... I held best I could and then let go.. and lost my right pinky tip.
Wish YOU the best for sure, man. Never had to get a waiver myself, even though it's my shift hand....... who the ef' uses a pinky anyway?!?!? I don't drive an 18 anymore, but.. imagine I still could.
THANK you for the kind words. I'm just me. Some of the big boys dislike me; understood. Can't and won't pretend to be who I'm not.
I'll look for that thread if you don't find it first. Warmed my heart, totally.Rideandrepair, FlaSwampRat and 88 Alpha Thank this. -
Best advice- use internet to find lawyer in that city. Interstate Trucker failed me twice- lost time and money with them, had to find the lawyer myself twice. I hope to find a lawyer to sue them. If anyone wants to join me for class action suit against Interstate Trucker if they did poor job for you- contact me.poppapump1332 Thanks this.

Roadlaw couldn't help me with my last ticket. They didn't have any lawyers in the area.
Interstate did. -
The thing is- for that money Interstate Trucker pays to the lawyer you can't expect the lawyer to do a good job for you. When I've got a ticket they found a lawyer who arranged, without my agreement, without even contacting me, for me to be in the court- 700 miles from my home. I dumped Interstate Trucker, found a good lawyer on Internet in that area, and he handled it without me being there and no ponts on my MVR.

Apparently most of the posters on here are former traffic lawyers who decided to switch careers and become truck drivers.
Your first mistake was letting some dumb cop pull you over. You are either a sovereign citizen, the police officer a road pirate, and/or the traffic stop illegal and totally just because the cop was having a bad day or hates truckers.
Second mistake was talking to the cop without raising your voice and asking for a warrant. Everyone on here does that every time they're pulled over. Police love that, and secretly respect you for screaming gibberish at them for 5 or 10 minutes about your rights during routine traffic stops.
Then - according to most people here - the cop or his supervisor apologizes and thanks you for being a good citizen and upholding civilization.
You were a vet, or maybe your Uncle's ex-wife was, or maybe you wore camo for Halloween once in the Eighties; and once that becomes clear - because it's totally relevant to why you were pulled over - there's a dance party with nothing but Waylon playing on the side of the road because no one's ever seen a vet/traffic lawyer/sovereign citizen/truck driver like you; and the whole highway squad wants to line up and take pictures holding your dick wrapped in an American Flag to show their kids that they met a real man.
That's how you avoid a ticket.
Since you made the mistake of acting like a normal person, I'd suggest getting a lawyer and burying the ticket...
Here's a list of CO Springs traffic lawyers. Should find one or two that can help you there.

Next time, though, remember phrases like "statist pigs", "revenue collectors", and "my rights" and things should go much smoother.
Good luck.Last edited by a moderator: Dec 8, 2019

Thank you guys. I woke up to a 5 year old who had gotten sick overnight and crapped the bed, and a miniature Schnauzer that's not even mine that left a gift on the 10 year old's bedroom floor. Don't get me started on my wife's aunt - Alzheimer's - who lives with us.
And we were out of coffee.
The Dark Side of the Force was strong, very strong.
