When I was job hunting in the KC area a year or so ago I couldn’t believe how many ads were ran that completely omitted the company name.

Some of the megas use other companies as a front on CL. CRE or CRST had some other outfit, Baylor or Bayliss or something, doing their recruiting with an ad that had a stock photo of a truck. Only way I could tell who it was, the actual name was in the URL for the application.

There are a number of companies who deserve a driver shortage, for the most part they're the ones crying about it.

That's because they have such a bad reputation they know nobody will call if the company name is on the ad.

I loved the hangup after telling asking too many questions.

And agreed on the ads by omit of company name. It would be a instant filter to have quality drivers decline the ad and never call. Its also possible with a lookup directory you might find where a phone number ends up to such and such a company.

Ask what the pay for detention and orientation. Good indicator of their mindset. If it's $15 and $75 move on.

Climate Express does that down here but it us a picture of their truck with every bit if lettering photoshopped out of the picture. But feel freecto call their "friendly" recruiter Katy. How friendlg can any of that be if you can't put up the company name?

The best is when they put " depends on experience".. Called about a job one time . Was qualified for it and knew the going rate for my experience was about 18 an hour and they laughed at me and said they couldnt do that.

"Best we can do is 10.50 an hour"

"No wonder why u are looking for operators, goodbye"

There will not be a change for the better until ALL trucking companies some how decide to insert quality information with very good pay in ads. They will have hundreds of drivers showing up.

I automatically pass over ads that do not contain anything of value. If I happen to question a employer closely and they complain? Then we are finished here. Or any number of other issues.

I remember a ready mix operation in Arkansas that only paid minimum wage. Now near J'Boro they are paying close to 16.00 hour to start. Motivating. (Razorback Concrete) It would have been better if they paid that long ago. or more.

Most local outfits around these parts are still trying to get away with $10-13/hr. One in particular pays .40/mi loaded and .30/mi empty for OTR... and there's an endless line of applicants.
