We use that same, well a bit more advanced but essentially the same Trimble system on our excavators.

i was looking tonight at NY plow trucks, they say dsny have 7000 vehicles of which 4500 are heavy duty trucks that can plow snow, many of them are garbage trucks fitted with snowplow, but i also saw many cabover orange paint mack cabover with saltspreader.
my city have 240 plow trucks and about that much garbage trucks. sanitation Dpt. have very few trucks that can plow, i would say no more than 10.

some smaller municipals here have garbage trucks that can plow and spread

is there lot of ice road problems in NYC since garbage trucks dont spread salt and due low height snow is wet?

Yes, in Kamaz engineering department.

I did not look in all the details, I was just passing through on my way to engine dyno.
Could not make pictures.

I also noticed a lot of activities with self-driving/autonomous trucks and buses.

Articulated arctic/oilfield truck (previous time there was just frame and axles, now complete vehicle, it was on Comtrans exhibition some time ago)

 

Old FIAT's just won't die.






Well.... not just old Fiat's....in Africa many old trucks just seem to keep going and going
