I am planning to train for a career in truck driving. I am what is considered a dislocated worker, which means that after 20 years at my job, I'm no longer needed. I have relatives on the road and they are all staying busy so I figure I will give it a try. Any advise? By the way I'm 44 years old, married with 3 kids. My youngest is 17. Thats all for now.
Wish me luck

referman,
It sure is going to be different to be sure. I hope you got a buy out or something. I know I did and with my retraining allowance it helps out with some of the decisions I have to make.
I tried another career in the last 6 months after I got let go after 28 years. That place turned my love of my hobby into hate and loathing. One GOOD think that came out of that job is that I learned that I could live on much less than what I was making, so that was a good thing.
Good Luck to you Sir!referman Thanks this.
