We have 2 600/2050 ISX 2013 T800 Kenworths. Pulling between 160,000 and 170,000 daily. So far so good. Decent power, quiet, no problems.

What?? I have driven both the dd15 and dd16 and when you put on the jake on either of them you might as well roll down the window and stick your hand out!! It would slow you down faster!!
Old thread hmm still bs -
DD16 is the biggest highway engine by Daimler.
The biggest engine usually have some parts it wont sharing with most popular DD13 and DD15. It is like a story about Volvo FH16 and we all know why ISX15 rated 650 hp was better than D16G rated to 750 hp
So I'd choose 15L engine if u have no specific applications -
Here is my quick and simple input. I've been driving a DD16 for the past year. This past week I drove the spare truck which had the comparable Cummins engine. I quickly discovered that the DD16 develops power much quicker and has better top-end speed. I grew up on Cummins motors and I must admit that I am a bit disappointed in Cummins. This Cummins engine I experienced this past week rattled like a bear can...a lot of noise. Can't remember where I saw it, but there is a website that put a million miles on a DD series motor, tore it down, and found no ware on parts where typically found.
