True, but you still have to have a tanker endorsement. I understand the totes you speak of. However, I'm still lost when it comes to the actual endorsement Haz-Mat with tanker on a CDL. Either a vehicle is a tanker (tank attached to the frame) or it is not. Why not just get the X and be done with it all. Seems a bit micky mouse to me.
Might be a dumb question

Fuel haulers, chemical tanks, probably will never hook to a van to haulgoods. Tanker/HazMat for those.x1Heavy Thanks this.
-
H is used for Hazmat only, N is used for tanker only, X is used for tanker AND Hazmat.
x1Heavy and otherhalftw Thank this. -
**Mind is bombed. Nothing exists after this thought is completed."otherhalftw Thanks this.

This was my point. the Tanker test is 20 questions (I think) and is one of the easiest of the CDL written tests. If you are going to get haz-mat and expect to be pulling a tanker from time to time why not work for the X and be done!otherhalftw and x1Heavy Thank this.

Take a deep breath....hold it......now let it out. You should be OK soon enough.x1Heavy Thanks this.

The thimble is full. -
Now I’m not too bright all the time, but what you’re saying is the X is Hazmat with tanker. So I could have just done that at the same time and not done the tanker test by itself?
I can always ask tomorrow while I’m there, but I want to make sure I get the correct endorsements, my GI Bill covers the school and all my endorsements. But they never explained the difference. Just want to make sure I’ve got my paperwork filled out correctly. I’m trying to set myself up with the most options I can for when i get out of the military in a couple of months
I’ve been studying most of the day, my boy’s got a school function I’ve got to go to tonight and I’ll go over everything one more time tonight, and again tomorrow before the DMV opens.
