I understand it. I have to get on and off the T/P alot and go into the city. We go from VA to Maine west to PA, So I am familiar with all the toll roads, but like I said I and You live in toll road central. Very hard for us to avoid them. Out west is different. But Chicago has there fair share of toll roads. Just friday I did 7 stops on the island.

I think that most of you misunderstood the point he was trying to make by getting defensive when you shouldn't be.

There was no specific "TMC account" info given, period. He was given information on their POLICIES and TERMS that applies to everyone, not just TMC.

Make out of it what you will, but nothing prepass has said matches with what TMC claims, Prepass will tell you that the only way they require a deposit up front is if you're frequently late in paying your bill, so if TMC pulled out because of this then it's their own fault for not paying their bill on time.

The fact is, it's YOUR money that they were refusing to spend, correct? You were paying $8 dollars per month to use this service, right? So, $8 Per month x what? 3000 trucks?

They "Diddn't want" to pay the money up front? Who cares what -they- want, sitting in their office. It's about the drivers convenience, not them and their little "we're TMC and you owe us a bunch of favors" stuck up attitude. The point is that TMC is feeding you guys a load of crap, there were no policy changes, and prepass diddn't suddenly come out of nowhere and demand prepayment, and, even if they did, they should've been able to do that no problem charging everyone 2 bucks a week, that account should be overflowing by now.. So what did they do with the money you were paying to use the transponder? Pocket it? Just some food for thought.

Yep, I agree w/that. I don't know what the real story is, but we're not getting from TMC, and that bothers me, on more than one level. I really dislike it when I get lied to, and it tends to make me distrust the liar.

. This is the real issue. They are shifting a greater burden/more work onto us drivers w/no compensation. Heck, even getting our reimbursements has proven to be a real pain in the poop chute, at least for me, and I've tried it all 3 ways.

If I pay out-of-pocket, I have to wait 2-3 weeks for my reimbursement. If I get a "cash advance", they get that fouled up, and withdraw the money from my check, w/o authorization, even though I've sent in the receipts. If I force my dispatcher to give me a ComChek (and the minimum he will issue is $20, even though I only need $14.25), then I've got to keep up w/the $5.75 deduction. So far, this seems to be the least hassle, even though my dispatcher seems to dislike me requesting a ComChek code.

The deductions ALWAYS come on the very next pay period, while the reimbursements ALWAYS take at least 2 weeks to come through. I don't like that. When I make a loan to them, it should be repaid to me, as fast as they get their money back from me.

On the brighter side, next weeks check does include a refund of my $100 deposit. I was going to ask my dispatcher to make that happen next week... now that it has become evident that they do not intend to replace our Pre-Pass units at all. Guess I'll be hitting ALL the scales now, not to mention the extra charges for CAT scales to make sure I really am legal; I tend to not trust most shipper scales.

There are lots of people in and out of this board that don't yet drive for TMC, or left for one reason or another.

It's not really about who's business it is, this is a discussion forum, and I'm here discussing. Again, if you disagree with something, try to explain why, make a valid point, or go away, nobody wants to read your petty insults.

I'm willing to bet that you aren't even a driver at this point.

I also happen to believe that as long as it's the drivers money that they are playing with, it is your business. You can defend them, or turn your head to the issue all you want.. But where your 2 dollars a week has been going is still a mystery, and I believe why you were denied a service that you had been paying for, whatever their reason may be. And, as far as them saying that their competitors don't use it, i'd like to know what competitors they were looking at, because that is false also.

Moreover, why did you pay a 100 dollar deposit for the unit when it's now useless and prepass doesn't want it back? You can throw it in the trash for all they care, why would TMC want it back, so they can throw it in the trash personally? Not likely. I don't believe i'm going too far in saying that's just another way to take money from rookies who don't make it more than 6 months, but that's just my opinion.

You apparently have the technological capability to use a computer, perhaps you can take a little initiative and call them yourself. I'm fairly certain they will tell you most of what they told me. Then again your total lack of tact may be an issue.

my husband ue to drive for tmc for a long time and just left a few (3) months ago b/c all of the bull crap that they are and was doing.funny thing tho when it was time to get the 100 dollars back there best excuse not to refund him was that it took 4 days to recieve it ....darn i cant help trip pak took two days then i guess they go through mail when they feel up to it...i told that lady at tmc if they need that 100 dollars that bad to keep it cause thats pretty hard up if you ask me.heck he done good to bring home 300 dollars a week and that him not coming home but once a month when they would finally find a load coming this way..he would get stuck out 600 miles from home on the weekend with NO LOAD as always and thats a bunch of crap if he had to stay out they could have found something to put on his back...years ago i will stand and say tmc was a good company to work for and my hubby made great money but the last year he was there he could have worked at mc donalds and made the same amount...i wish all of you that are still there the best of work but for 300 dollars a week its not worth the stress that tmc puts on you guys ..they are a pain n the as? to deal with and one time my hubbys truck was broke down n b-ham alabama at pb shop and tmc wouldnt pay to fix it there so they paid a tow truck to carry it to shop..thats crazy it would have been cheaper to pay pb shop then a tow bill for 450 miles then for shop labor and parts ...they work back as%^&^ wards if you ask me...they keep the 100 dollars but if that big ol company is hurting that bad i would hate for them to have to fire a driver over that 100 dollars....anyways you all be safe out on the road and take care...

why would i need too, i dont have it and i dont need it. i remember the days before it and its not that big of a deal. its just the fact that you had no reason to call them. its not your place to call on behalf of TMC just to resolve your personal issues.
