I'd go with a non-wastegated turbo for this application. Depending on the flash file and fuel codes the stock turbo is to small in my opinion. I wouldn't push EGT's any higher than you're going now. You could allow them to go to 1200 for a very short period of time without hurting anything. I talked to a truck puller that was going as high as 14-1500 but this only lasted for 10-15 seconds without any internal damage.

Had some good runs this weekend, turbo is a bit laggy out of the hole but ran well after that. I lost direct gear, think I bent the fork, I have to pull it to inspect.

Hey I know the thread is old but I had a quick question. I have a 1lw cat and want to get away from the pacbrakes, but that calls for the 340c series. My question is if I can run 340a series as well? I’ve heard guys say different things. Thanks for any help.
