Agreed if container is on the truck, there would be no problem. Just another reminder there is so much to pay attention to out here.

This reminds me of a couple of summers ago.
A container and chassis feller loaded at a hardwood mill just up up the road from me. After leaving the mill he struck out for the interstate which is about ten miles away. Well, this is a small country road with a small center of town at the bottom of short steel drop with a hairpin turn in front of the general store. Long story short this guy was from away, and he got surprised by
the hill and the corner and laid it over. Not a big deal, particularly, but it took several hours to bring in equipment to get it back upright.
Long about midnight my wife and I are jolted awake by a tremendous BOOM!!. So there is a railroad over pass (disused) at the end of my driveway that goes over our little two lane road.
The bridge is 13' 9" . And subject to a lot of strikes by the loggers and heavy haulers.
Well I haul on some pants and head out to the bridge and find that same container chassis in a other wreck!
The wrecker was hauling ### with that truck up on the hook and struck that bridge without so much as a thought. !! The air dam that was on the truck hit first, flew off and liked to hit my mailbox! Then the container hit about 6" up on the truss and busted the container locks allowing it slide off the chassis, similar to the picture in this thread, except it caved that container in about 3 to 4 feet on the nose.
Wrecker operator was some put out let me tell you! Figured he lost his profit on the original job for sure!randomname, Feedman, PoleCrusher and 8 others Thank this. -
