1. Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

Dude, a wreckless driving conviction is a drunk driving that has been plea bargained down. You will not be hired by anyone until it's off your record (10 years):biggrin_2552:

but it takes a month to get your cdl right or are you saying sign up for the school this week

lol i have NEVER EVER once drove while intoxicated in my life, i was just being a kid street racing and when i lost my car reality hit me, now im ready to get a life, make some money, buy a house (there so cheap right now!!! ahhh), have a baby with my wife and live life.

This is to future posters please do not bring up my wreckless driving, i've taken care of it and yes im still paying on it, once its paid in full, it will be dismissed. If you're going to give me a job and you would like a letter from the judge stating, it was not a plea bargain from a DUI i can do that.

    Thank you

Son, this statement is pure sarcasm.

Wait for a few more answers here.

And Yeah, my son did the same thing, has a reckless on his record as well. No it was not a DUI. Occasionally the cops use it for what its intended for.

Like bullhaulers wife said..this is PURE sarcasm. Don't waste your time or money on truck school right now..recruiters will tell you they can work around the reckless, then after you sign the papers and try for employment after the school you will be told NO WAY with your record.

Just because you feel remorse now, and you are ready to get on with life, does not mean the industry with all the unemployed experienced drivers, and the new school graduates with clean DMV records wanting jobs, will take you on becuse you have found the right way to live. This industry is so deeply constrained by the insurance underwriters, that with a reckless, (no matter what the situation was that got you the conviction) they are going to take you on. Maybe a fly-by-night operation will, but no large training company will risk your background. Sorry dude..try a forklift, or some local straight truck delivery, but for OTR, nothing I can think of will get you in the door.

    Remember don't believe a recruiter!

Otherhalf just gave you some excellent advice, and saved you from getting taken advantage of by the inevitable sleazy recruiter. The appropriate response is, "Thanks."

Reality, a dose of reality, better now than after wasting money on driving school. I don't know you, so I can't judge you.
Now, go scrape that obama/biden sticker off your bumper.......
