If it were me I would try to set something up like horses to support your hood. Then I would loosen up the radiator and see how far forward you can move it. Sometimes without disconnecting the hoses you can get pretty good movement and you could get the fan out of there and it would give you more room.

If worse came to worse you could drain your antifreeze and flip the radiator forward.

Probably not what you want to do but it would give you plenty of room.

Nothing yet. I got rained out yesterday. I do know the hub costs $400, so I’ll cut out the old one if I have to (hope it doesn’t come to that) . I’m going in town to talk to who rebuilds they hubs in town and see what he says. The 42mm seems to big and the 41mm seems to small for the spindle nut. So maybe it’s a size inbetween or the walls of my 3/4 sockets are to big and it can t really grab it.
I did buy this extraction kit socket for when I do get the pulley part off C68041C9-7F30-476A-9D70-B13244DCC4BD.jpeg

Got that spindle nut off! It’s a 1” 5/8 on this keysor set up. Had to use a long bendable 1/2 drive with a 3/4 extension, and pull just at the right angle or it would slip off.

But for some reason the hub is not coming off the spindle still. The bearings have been falling out since I’ve been hitting it with a hammer, chisel, and pry bar. Any ideas? CA25F9CA-0E71-4781-A77A-8CCE65C61ADD.jpeg

    Glad you got it off!

You have to use two pry bars behind the pulley to work it off.

Be careful it doesn't fall off and hit your radiator.

It takes kind of a quick pop to break it loose.

Quick update. Got that hub off! I used a pry bar to get it over where the bearing was seated. Kept bangin, still wouldn’t come off. I got above it with my winch bar that has a slight angle in it, like vertically above instead of prying from the side like was, then boop, it jumped right over.

now that I know what the spindle looks like, it makes much more since. Oh and that Irwin extraction kit worked like a charm. Tapped it on, and a slight pull with a 1/2” ratchet got it loose. Now time to put it back together. THANKS for sticking with me on this one, you know that morale helps.

Little late now but a 8 Point socket will work on rounded bolts also.

Yes indeed. Cool thing is the new one has a spindle, bracket and even a air fitting.

would you use blue locktite or anti seize?

Glad to hear you got everything apart without damage.

Are you going to buy a kit for the clutch fan, like from kit Masters?

The kit is not nearly as difficult as what you just went through, LOL.

Oh, I see the picture that you posted.

You bought a brand new clutch fan and mount?

my spindle is probably toast anyways, and I beat down the grooves on the hub. The new hub was $390, so I got that and a new idler pulley too
