Our drivers pay for anything that’s their fault. One of our drivers 2 days ago didnt lock down the ramps. They must have came off while driving. He didnt notice till yesterday morning when starting his day. He pays to replace them.
Driver left the lot and hit a parked truck. He pays.
Driver hit a parked car leaving a delivery. He pays.
The way our company “pays” for it is in the time lost to figure things out. We will find inexpensive places to fix things. We will order the parts. We will use the drivers elog time to bring a vehicle to the bronx to repair it. But the actual expense is on the driver. When the ramps were lost we spent a whole day trying to fix the situation to get up and running. I called like 15 different places to find replacements. Unfortunately our spare smaller ramps were lent out and that person broke one in 2 pieces, and warped the other. Lesson learned. -

I don't remember where I was, but it was the middle of the winter and a guy at the next fuel lane from me had to bust the triangle window to get into his truck.... not sure who paid the cost for the repair....
But, I zip tie a spare key inside the engine compartment if it ever happens to me....it's behind a bunch of hoses/wires, so it's so well hidden, you need to know what to look for to find it. It works for any truck that has the outside locking mechanism for the hood. Unfortunately, this leaves Volvo out as there is a hood release inside the cab. If someone has a suggestion that we can all use if we are stuck with a truck that has that issue, it would be good...FlaSwampRat Thanks this. -

We pay for accidents to our property as well as other peoples, we pay for damages while in our possession, we pay for motel rooms when trucks are down, we pay a full rate per hour of up to 10 hours a day for down time or detention, we have paid to rent cars for employees, we have paid plane tickets for employees, of course we pick up on the job medical expenses,,,,,,,,,,,,what we don't pay for is stupid, That is where I draw the line!

I had that happen on Parvin, Rd (Kansas City area).. Got locked out of a Transit van after I staged it for loading. Low on cash I called Boss Man 1.0 he said "handle it and put it on the company CC".
After I got loaded I called him to let him know I'm loaded and rolling. Then told him I'll call the owner and let him know to pull it off my next settlement check. The owner laughed, busted my balls, and said "don't worry about it"..
That's why I work for small companies where you are a name not a number.062, plankton and KANSAS TRANSIT Thank this.
