Where is everyone #5

US27, SB, about 15 miles north of my drop at waste management Pembroke Pines. I love looking at the transmission poles? & thinking about the hot, humid, cottonmouth & gator infested glades & the men who braved it to build them. That's the Everglades right there. It doesn't look it, but there is water under them reeds.

Then my mind wanders a bit, wondering about how many bodies may have gone missing in the glades over the years..



Welp, it's hard to see, but if you zoom in that's the coroner, & forensic team you see there. One road into the dump, & its blocked off because a body was found dumped in the ditch there this morning..

At 1st I was only selfishly concerned with myself & getting them cans off the deck & headed home. I came to my senses & realized a life has been snuffed out, forgot about my petty load, & said a small prayer for the fallen one..

The white Werner refused to move, so I continued south, hit a U & got behind the blue Werner you see off to the right on the shoulder. Talked to the cop, & he said it could be hours. WM garbage trucks began stacking up behind me.

I start talking to a clean cut Cuban who is a supervisor for WM running a roll off for the day because they are down a few guys. He says there is a back way in, but only WM can use it. Then he says follow me in, & the compactors will ride your tail & the cops won't have time to notice because you'll look like one of us with all them green cans. Put my green vest on while driving in for extra authenticity, LoL..

Long story short it worked, & I'd just like to tip my hat to fallen. Maybe taking a quick minute to think about someone else's plight, & like to think that was them returning the favor..

No pic of the WM convoy going in, but this was the the way we snuck in. Me going out solo..

 

I'm enjoying Saginaw michigan this weekend.Desperately wanna get back to Nd soon.

 

Told dispatch that I had my parents coming into town this weekend. What does dispatch do? Send me on a three stop, 3400 gallon, wash and load two compartments 525 mile round trip load. Layed over in Canyonville 3 1/2 hours from home. At least happy that my wife and kids can see the parents.

Thanks folks. Wasn't very exciting. I got bronchitis, then twisted up a knee, and topped of with a house hold of stomach flu all in 5 days. Getting old is looking better everyday

 

Now that is no fun at all. Hope you feel better soon!

Guess the flu is going around our kids school and praying we stay healthy over Christmas but we shall see.
