Good Luck but I believe if you have a job now, keep it. Other companys cut their pay as well and I believe one cent a mile is ok other company did worse to their drivers.

Oh believe me... I'm not quitting one job until I have another (Mama only raised 1 fool, and that's my older brother). To be honest I'd much rather be a daycab person, then leave my family for a week + at a time. Swift has always been a means to an end situation.

anything new happening at SWIFT?

Swift drivers got another "update" ... I saw the letter and it said something like Thanks for increasing our profit margin but things will stay the way they are for another 3 months ... then we will evaluate.
Glad I left. -
Does anyone have a copy of the new letter????

Wow Seem Like They Are Starting With Inexperinced Freight Truckers Again

As far as what I read into it... we've been cut .01 per mile for 3 months, and it will continue for 3 months more, then be re-evaluated. Back pay in the form of a bonus system is being worked out.
*shrug* Not terribly unreasonable to me.
All of the time off without pay stuff is for people working in the offices. My fleet manager and driver manager had to do this also. -
It just shows you how out of touch modern management is in America when they take something simple, the word goal, and try to "energize it" by calling it a Wildly Important Goal or WIG. Yes, I need an acronym to explain the importance of this because just calling it a goal isn't enough. What is this country coming to? What are they teaching managers in school beyond how to blow smoke up your ###?
Last time I heard talk about improving earnings, improving conditions, and how we were all gonna weather the storm, I got canned.. -
For regulatory reasons, employees cannot perform any aspect of their job during their time off without pay. This includes, but is not limited to, checking or answering voicemails, reviewing or sending e-mails, doing work from home, or any other company-related business . Violation of this instruction may result in discipline, and any violations of this instruction must be immediately reported to Human Resources. Your continued employment at the Company will be considered consent to your unpaid time off, and does not alter the status of your at-will employment. Please work with your employees/managers to coordinate the time away to ensure proper coverage in your departments.
I wonder how many will be called to answer a simple question, and be terminated for the infamous "violation of company policy"
