In his video he posted his blowby looked about what a series 60 would look like normally. But was a little excessive for a cat in my opinion. Having said that I would just drive it. Seen many engines go years with lots blowby and no big deal. Oil consumption is what most people guage the internal health by.

You’ve been right this far, no reason to doubt you now.

The Cat C13 Acert in my Dump Truck smokes considerably out the blowby.
    Yesir!

Fans work in so many different variations today, it will be interesting to hear what the cause of yours staying on is.

As I understand it the Air to turn off fans, if they leak air internally they stay on indefinitely.
I found out that these fans don't freewheel with the engine off so that's a very easy way to know if you have a Air to turn off fan, just grab the fan and see if it freewheels or not.

The ECM controlled fans like my C13 Acert has can literally have 10 different things that turn the fan on.

    AC Hi Pressure
    Coolant Temp above 216F
    Intake exhaust temp above 189F
Intake exhaust temp 162 with 10 psi boost
Pto engaged - if this is activated in the computer
    Engine brake on
    Coolant sensor engine code
    Intake air temp sensor code
    RPM below 2250
    Engine cranking
    Engine off
and on and on it goes.

It used to be such a simple deal.
All that stuff is nice while its working but most drivers will be lucky if they can find someone smart enough to fix it when it fails.

So I think the engine leak has been solved. Went under truck this morning and noticed this leak.

It looks like hydraulic fluid. It appears to be coming from the spool valve.

    Gix1k Thanks this.

Spray it off clean and see where it comes from. Might just be a loose hose.

Upon further investigation, I see drips coming from the bottom of tranny. It could be residual coming from the recent oil bath. Like @AModelCat says clean it up the best you can and recheck. You might have to get underneath with a pressure washer.

I would also lift the box and see if you can clean some from that area. Be sure to put down a safety pin or block before getting under that.

I just went and grabbed two gallons of this to start cleaning the bottom, it’s a mess. F18F2E29-681D-48CD-8881-086CFDD16F15.jpeg
