I've always thought IT work would be neat long as I could travel some. I've never been one to be behind 4 walls every day. And here I am behind 4 walls in a truck every day. At least the 3 walls are windows and the scenery is always changing.
So you already have some trucks running under you?

If you were in the long island area I would've jumped on part-time to make a little $. Every little bit helps trying to buy a house these days.Gix1k Thanks this.

That's why I was paying 22/ hr. to keep drivers and STILL couldn't keep drivers...like I said bunch of bums!!!!!!!Gix1k Thanks this.

Good way to look at it. I need to find out what they paid for this kit.

I’m on a local FB group and I see people asking for jobs often. I’d pay around $22/hr as well, so I hope I can find drivers. I’ll see how it goes.
Hopefully by my third truck I can buy something new. -
Think the problem was the drivers didn't want to work that many hours,it's was asphalt, grindings and dirt work summer time is busy time.
Gix1k Thanks this. -
I don't want to sounds like a butthead here but I don't understand something.
Why is it that everyone that is sick of whatever jobs thinks oh I'll go buy a truck and make money that way. Even though they know nothing about trucks, don't have actual work lined up and have never done it before?
I've basically driven my whole life and sure I didn't start out knowing everything I do now but I learned over time before jumping right in to owning a truck and trailer.
I wouldn't start an IT business just because I can turn on a computer and expect to be successful. And I don't fault anyone for wanting to do something else, I just don't understand why people jump in so far instead of just dipping their toes first. See so many people on here that think just because they managed whatever successful business that they will also do well in trucking but 6 months or a year later they are long gone and probably brokejoey8686 and Roberts450 Thank this. -
Well, there was research done prior. I mean, if you wait to be a “pro” at everything you attempt in life, you won’t do many things. I’m a determined type of guy. I own my truck, don’t owe anyone anything all while maintaining a 9/5 to cover my lifestyle until I’m ready to let go and do this full time. If I was able to learn to run a fortune 100 company network, I can learn this profession.autopaint, Itsbrokeagain, Roberts450 and 1 other person Thank this.

Sometimes you have to put down the map and get lost in the forest in order to figure it out and be successful. If you wait for that right moment with your all thought out plan, its never going to come and you'll wait you're whole life.
Power of social media and networking these days is huge. Start off with a few jobs, and slowly build.Gix1k Thanks this. -
Since you have a cable shift on your pump , there should be another cable attached to the eye on this valve that runs to the back of dump body. That valve prevents the last cylinder stage from bottoming out. I have same pump but I have air shift on mine which uses an air valve to stop the pump from bottoming out. The oil leak at the line going to the cylinder is because someone didn’t put pipe dope on the threads. No big deal. Easy to fix if you want. That pump should raise on its own with no throttle and while loaded. Do not run pump over 1500rpm unless you want to shorten pump life. I usually go about 1100 rpm max
Here is where cable eye is on your pump that stops the last stage. Raise the bed in the air. Make sure last stage doesn’t go fully extended. I have my last stage set to extend maybe half way
Gix1k and Itsbrokeagain Thank this.
