hey bowhunter, if you could post what youhave done so far and how far along in school you are i would appreciate it

You will spend 3 wonderful weeks in the luxurious Crosslands Extended stay, translates to they change the sheets once a week. I actually got to drive 3 miles today - bobtail. We dropped the trailer and they have no empties. Now we are waiting for an empty to come in at the local Pilot. No bobtailing over 10 miles allowed, plus finishing teams cannot run more than 19 hours without at least 8 hours of the truck not moving. We can't move until after 10
m. If a trailer comes in.

Hey Fozzy and others, have been reading a lot of threads on here trying to decide on what company to go with. Should have all paperwork approved and bus ticket sent tomorrow to start with Stevens on the 10th. Have a question... Where are the Steven's Terminals located?
-
Got a call from Stevens myself. Turned them down. Dont think I could handle 3 weeks out at a time. If I have to do a 36hr restart every 70hrs why not do it at home?
-
Stevens has one terminal, there in Dallas where you will be going to school. They do have some drop yards, but I've only ever been to the one in Laredo, which has showers and Laundry plus a big screen tv with satellite tv and very good AC.
-
You will almost never do a 34 hr reset when working for Stevens unless you are at home. Getting home evry three weeks is probably a recruiter blowing smoke, but you get the same story from most companies. Getting a local job is the best way to be home fairly often, but local companies usually want you to have at least a year OTR before they will even think about hiring you. Gotta pay the dues.
luni Thanks this. -
There are alot of "beginner" companies that will get you home more than once every 3 weeks. I know it isnt going to happen every weekend, lets face it your gonna run out of hours here and there. But 3 weeks between a home stop is to much for me.
-
Fozzy,
I didn't go to school there so we got to stay at Americas Best Value Inn in Garland TX. What a dive. -
And that's the good hotel!
