Aggressive or Distracted?

It drives me nuts...driving behind a guy or gal and see that they reach for their cell phone and start texting. They slow down at least 10-15 mph. I get into the left lane to maintain my speed and pass them and about halfway by, they put the phone down after they’ve sent the text and speed back up. And it just continues on down the road. Ridiculous. It’s a totally different world for trucking today than 20 years ago.

Distracted or aggressive. Both are just as dangerous IMO. Aggressive drivers typically lack skill from what I've seen. Then when SHTF they've hung themselves with no way out.

 

How would the camera differentiate between a cell phone or an iPod ? Some people still use them to play music through their cars.

and before anyone says change out your stereo to have one that uses its controls to control the music then one always asks what’s the difference between being distracted by an iPod or a stereo controls? Or even putting makeup on while driving ? Eating? Drinking water?

 

Hands Free law i would assume

No fiddling with gadgets when one is driving

How it is here in Canada. No electronic devices are allowed to be interfaced with while driving. Phone, MP3 player, GPS etc. Only thing I believe you're ok to use is a 2 way radio. Even then I'm not 100% sure on that since I don't run a radio (VHF is expensive and CB has been dead in Canada for decades).

How about changeing the radio, heat cruise?
What about all the electronic signs?
In the old days we didn't even have cup holders for your beer.

 

if i wasnt a truck driver i would never believe u but man i would even say every 2nd car is an understatement. it is so bad out here with the phones. there is times i have driven for hundreds of miles and every single car that passed me had their phone in their hand.
