Here's another issue......
I live in rural GA. I get loads home very rarely (maybe twice last year), but I always have a reload here where I live. Therefore, I'm usually deadheading out of Atlanta or Macon (if I'm lucky), BUT, when I reload, I do it here.....
SO, technically, by deadheading home I'm advancing to my next load, albeit 3 or 4 days in the future.
What do ya'll think about that?

I believe your good to use PC, provided you are not already dispatched, or somehow committed to that next load.
ZVar Thanks this. -
PC is good as long you are not advancing the load to the next delivery.
From my POV this is just another item the FMCSA manages to screw it up. And for what? What a mess.
I remember a sign in CO no food or services next 76 miles. Check fuel tank. They mean NO food or services next 76 miles. -
The real question is how they are going to look at PC when you use it when your on duty hours: 11/14/70 would otherwise expire. Assuming that the PC was indeed only personal.

Again, so? If it's pc it's pc and outside hos. If it's not valid then whatever hos is broken, hos is broken.

Many times its expired at the shipper or reciever staying there all day and half the night and unloaded the next day. The first thing you want is fuel, food and rest. Not at the shipper or reciever. You have to transport somewhere where you have a chance to get that lawful parking and take care of the truck and yourself.
In the past I used to put her up at a local large shopping mall, one of those old big time Simons properties in the far corner with one or two others. Everything except fuel is at the mall. (Food etc) after a rest we move on. Never a problem. -
