80 mph, 4 am, crotch rocket? What's the worst that could happen? I feel terrible for the truck driver. It's one of the reasons I got out.

I see this reckless behavior with motorcycle riders constantly when I’m in Florida.
I will be riding along in the right hand lane minding my own business when out of nowhere 2 or more motorcycles will blow by me at what seams to be A 100 mph or more and then cut in front of me narrowly missing my front bumper and then weave their way thru traffic and out of sight in literally seconds.
    It’s pretty unnerving.

I have a different opinion when I see a bike doing 80 as opposed to a pick up truck doing 80. The guy on the bike will kill himself. The guy in the pick up will kill others. I have a deep seated hatred for owners of pick up trucks that use them as muscle cars. It's one of my worst hangups.
I have a punk kid down my street with a brand new Dodge all jacked up and you hear him pulling out of his driveway like he is fighting for pole position. I feel like throwing a brick through his windshield sometime.

But seriously, if he ever hurts someone I know with that vehicle.... Let's just say you all will be reading about it.

Personally, I think crotches outta be outlawed.

Most of the bike accidents are crotches and most of them end up dead.

2 years ago there was a hubby and wife riding down one of the main streets. Took a curve too fast and left behind their 4 kids. They were in their early 30's and those 2 curves are very minor. They would have had to been going REALLY fast.

About 3:25 a.m., the man, 38, was riding a Suzuki motorcycle south on N 50th Street, the Tampa Police Department reported.

As he approached the intersection with the Lee Roy Selmon Expressway, a Freightliner truck was traveling north and turning left onto the expressway.

According to police, the motorcyclist “was unable to stop” and crashed into the semitractor-trailer. He was thrown from his motorcycle.

Motorcyclist dies after crashing into tractor-trailer near Selmon Expressway, police say

Lee Roy also had a steak house over by the airport. It was a really good place but I'm pretty sure it's closed now. I also thought it was neat when they named the crosstown expressway after him.

No dang common sense. My brother in law sell bikes. He says these guys buy them and and head down the road, and can scarcely watch them. Their can do can't keep up with their want to. It doesn't have to be a crotch rocket. Wasn't it a week or two ago a nasty motorcycle accident occurred close to Sarasota. Think all were age 50 or so. One guy lost it and bumped another vehicle, and caused some of his buddies to go down also? I think the best way to learn to ride is to start out playing in the dirt with a dirt bike.

Problem with riding is everyone has their own opinion how one should ride.

One group wants everyone to stay close.
Another group wants space. And most get upset when one doesn't keep up.

Used to be a time when it was all about the ride.
    Not anymore.
