I was reading up on the dot random drug testing and this is what I found
DOT drug tests are required in the following situations:
Pre-employment, or before you start your job responsibilities.
Reasonable suspicion/cause, or if one or more trained supervisors reasonably believes/suspects that you are under the influence of drugs. This must be based on observations concerning appearance, behavior, speech, smell, etc.
Random testing. Random tests must use a truly random selection process – each employee must have an equal chance to be selected and tested. These are completed quarterly.
So if your a o/o how do these random drug tests work?
How does “random” drug testing work for O/O?

Was reading somewhere recently that because the percentage of doper drivers is now over 1%, there will be an increase in the number of randoms done....

O/O joins consortium, chooses a “DER”, who is responsible for contacting Driver, within so many days, supposed to contact Driver when near a DOT clinic, or near home terminal, or before Dispatching etc. Drivers got x amount of hrs to get test. Plenty of time to do it all. But don’t get too comfortable, I did and missed a random, and got a nasty gram, threatening to report Me to the DOT. Amazingly, haven’t been called since.
