Superior Carriers & Henniff

    Hi guys! Any more info on this merger?!?!?
    The plant I work at appears to be closing. They offered a plant wide buyout that 740 people took, more than half the employees.
    Im thinking the plant will close or I'll get laid off in the next couple of months.
    I drove from 2005- 2007 pulling reefers and dry van, mostly reefer. I drove for Schneider, van side, from January 4, 2013 to July 15, 2013 while laid off my current job due to lack of work.
    I don't know Jack about tankers and I could use a good driver trainer too since I never had a trainer worth #### from the get go.
    I'm hoping someone can give me some advice on coming to work for SB. Im more concerned now due to the merger with Hennif.
    I'm good to go with Schneider but I'm worried about them after reading the comments on here.
    Any and all advice is welcome. If SB changed there hiring practice and you can recommend a better company the Schneider please let me know.

    It was made official, heniff and superior are merging with heniff taking completely over sometime in the near future. If you are going to superior I would do it pretty soon, don’t know what the requirements will be once heniff take over

    I'm wondering if they went on a hiring spree because they knew the prerequisites were going to be changing after the merger. The terminal I'm trying to get on at has been hiring a lot of new drivers too.

    That is exactly what I'm wondering myself. Either way.... Been told I should be good I just don't like hearing the "should" word lol... additionally overall I truly do like my job like anything it's got good days and bad days but I still like it here, would suck if the buy out meant I need to look for another gig time will tell.

    I think that has more to do with retirements/turnover than anything. My terminal we are losing just about all the long term drivers in the next couple years because of retirement. Very close to 100% replacment when you add in the odd driver that quits or transfers South.

    Well, I am south, so maybe that's where all the new drivers are coming from lol

    What do their local drivers get paid? I know Superior has several local loaders making $25.00 an hour. I wonder if Heniff is going to let them keep that.

    I believe those are the reqs. Like most any other company.

    But a lot could change with Heniff since they do not take Entry Level Drivers and Superior did.

    I have an interview w/ the TM at Pasadena tomorrow morning at 9 am. If there is a hiring spree going on w/ Superior right now I hope to get on it if / before things change w/ the merger.
